The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) serves the American democracy by safeguarding and preserving the records of our Government, ensuring that the people can discover, use, and learn from this documentary heritage.

Specific emphasis included:

Application Systems Certification and Accreditation (C&A) Support

  • ISI completed all Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance requirements for NARA including developing and implementing the security architecture and the systems security plan. In addition, ISI assessed all IT infrastructures for operational security issues and developed a risk management plan that integrated security requirements into the life cycle planning and funding of IT initiatives and investments.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) Support

  • ISI provided technical professionals to develop and maintain NARA’s Enterprise Architecture and related artifacts based on the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA Reference Models). ISI’s staff developed the EA artifacts to publish NARA EA 2.0 to the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). ISI staff developed “As Is” and “To Be” versions of NARA’s Enterprise Data Architecture, including the Conceptual Data Model (CDM), the Logical Data Model (LDM), the NARA Data Modeling and Review Guidelines, the Data Integration Strategy and the Data Security Strategy. Additionally, ISI developed the information integration between the Enterprise Business Process Model and the Enterprise Data Model.
